Florence (Endres) Golden, 97, of Liverpool passed away on Tuesday at home with her family at her side. Born and raised in Syracuse, Florence attended St. Vincent DePaul High School. She continued her studies at St. Joseph's School of Nursing becoming a Registered Nurse and furthered her studies at Catholic University in Washington, DC earning her BSNE. Florence completed her postgraduate education at Syracuse University. She was employed as a Nursing Instructor at St. Joseph's School of Nursing retiring in 1986 after a 27-year career. Florence along with her husband loved to travel and were avid cruisers. She loved music, dancing and was a fanatical SU sports fan. Her true focus in life though was her family and close friends. Florence volunteered with the Onondaga County Health Department and was a 70-year active parishioner of the Franciscan Church of the Assumption. She is predeceased by her husband, Stephen G. Golden in 2014 and her sister, Helen Sinclair. Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, Stephen M. Golden of Syracuse, four daughters, Suzanne M. Golden, Denise (Douglas) Nolan both of Syracuse, Jane Sadler, Mary (Kenneth) Golden-Kraushaar both of Liverpool, three grandchildren, Katie Powell, Christopher Nolan and Sarah Sadler, great-grandchildren, Max, Ian, Avery, Mari and Mila, her sister, Sister Rosemary Endres of Latham, NY, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Inc., 300 Second St. Liverpool. Prayer services will be on Tuesday at 10:15 am at the funeral home and 11:00 am in the Franciscan Church of the Assumption, 812 N. Salina St. Syracuse where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
