She worked for Greenfield Title Company as a record keeper for several years but spent most of her life as a farm wife caring for her family and their needs. Martha was a member of New Hope (Stringtown) Church of the Nazarene, Nameless Creek Literary Club, and was active within the Gideons Society. Martha enjoyed cooking and taking meals out to the fields for the farmers, known for her famous fried chicken and noodles. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren and grand nieces and nephews sporting events.
She is survived by her son, Tom (Pat) Cooper of Greenfield; daughter, Patricia Chapman of Denver, CO; son-in-law, Jerry Sitton of Homer; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and six great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James O. and Jessie M. (Fields) Moore; husbands, Marion A. Chapman and Robert L. Cooper; daughter, Sara Sitton; and siblings, Ralph Moore and Mary Sanders.
Due to COVID-19, the family’s wishes are to keep services private for family only. Private burial will be at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. Friends may share a memory or condolence at www.erleweinmortuary.com.
