Robert L. Cooper, 88, a resident of Greenfield, formerly of Rushville, passed away Friday, December 14th, 2007 at Hancock Regional Hospital.

He was born July 8, 1919 in Cadiz, IN to the late Ernest and Cora (Lukens) Cooper.

Mr. Cooper graduated from Westland High School in 1937 and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from farming having farmed in both Hancock and Rush Counties and was an active member of the Stringtown Church of the Nazarene where he was a Sunday school teacher and served on the church board. Mr. Cooper was a member of Gideon's and helped build the Rushville Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his wife Martha Mae (Moore) Cooper of Greenfield; son Tom (Pat) Cooper of Greenfield; daughters, Sara (Jerry) Sitton of Homer, IN, Patricia M. Chapman of Denver, CO; sisters, Kathleen Haynie of Greenfield, Maxine Gates of Shreveport, LA, Dortha Prather of Cincinnati, OH; five grandchildren, Candi Tillison, Monte Sitton, Christopher Sitton, Rob Cooper, and Mike Cooper; 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers; Harry, Roger, and Wayne Cooper.

Funeral service will be held Monday, December 17, 2007 at 10:00 am at the Stringtown Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Bill Bean officiating. Friends may call Sunday, December 16, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield.
