Ruth Brock, 86, of Englewood, Colo., formerly of Peoria, died Friday, April 26, 1996, at Porter Care Resident Hospice in Littleton, Colo.

Born Sept. 20, 1909, in Denison, Iowa, to the Rev. William and Elizabeth Bosecker Frese, she married Stanley Brock on June 29, 1936. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Nancy Brock Motlong of Denver; one son, William F. of New Canaan, Conn.; one sister, Helen Nichols of Dallas; and one brother, Carl Frese of Northbrook.

She graduated from the University of Iowa in 1930, where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She taught high school German and English.

She was former president of Junior League of Peoria. She was founder and first president of Methodist Medical Center Service League and was a board member of Methodist Medical Center Foundation. She was an active member of First Federated Church in Peoria and the PEO Sisterhood.

Cremation will be accorded. A memorial service will be at First Federated Church in Peoria.
