Jeannette Alkinburgh, 81 of Jacksonville, N.C., passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020 at Onslow Memorial Hospital of Jacksonville.

Jeannette, born January 3rd, 1939, was the daughter of the late Guy and Azubah Manchester.

She was married to the late Leroy Alkinburgh from January 19, 1957 until his passing in 1992.

Jeannette spent her later years with the late Bill Johnson.

Jeannette lived most of her life in upstate New York in the towns of Dolgeville, Lassellsville, and Johnstown before moving to North Carolina with her grandson, Randy Griffin, in 2016, where she spent her remaining years.

Most of Jeannette's working life was split between the Daniel Green and Tic Tac Toe shoe companies.

Jeannette will be remembered as a very kind woman who brought joy and happiness to everyone she met.

Ms. Alkinburgh is preceded in death by her daughter, Vicky Sterusky, and her brothers, Guy Manchester, Bob Manchester, Roger Manchester, and Dan Manchester. She is survived by brothers Richard Manchester of Lassellsville, Ralph Manchester of Bleecker, and Jim Manchester of Gloversville, as well as her daughter Teresa Griffin of Gloversville, 6 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
