Judy A. Shepherd, 73, of Platteville died on Monday, April 28, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque. Judy was born on November 4, 1940, the daughter of Milton and Esther (Daley) Butteris. She was united in marriage to Maynard Shepherd on July 18, 1959 in Dodgeville, WI. Judy graduated from Dodgeville High School. She worked for Platteville Schools as a cook for 26 years. She served union president for the support staff and also was past secretary for the food service organization. Judy was a Den Mother for 12 years for the Cub Scouts, a leader for Pioneers for Jesus, and taught Sunday school at Westview Methodist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with kids, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Maynard; children, Michael Shepherd of Madison; Steven (Chris) Shepherd of Benton; James Shepherd of LaCrosse; and Dana (Richard Forbes) Shepherd of Platteville; eight grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; two brothers, Gary (Karen) Butteris of Dodgeville; William “Bill” Butteris of Lone Rock, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Pat Buckingham and Mary King; and one brother, Glen Butteris.
