Joseph Quinney Chilton Times February 27, 1909

With the death of Joseph Quinney, of which a mention was made last week, an early settler has been removed from this neighborhood. He was born Oct 16, 1835 and when an infant three months old was brought to Stockbridge with his parents, the respected Austin and Jane Quinney. With the exception of five years residence in Brothertown he has lived in this town all his life. His father, Uncle Austin as he was called, was chief of the Stockbridge nation. Many of the old settlers, who remember back in the fifties, tell of acts of kindness conferred in those days by Austin Quinney and his venerable wife. Joseph was the youngest son and is survived by one sister, Harriet, who has been his life long companion.
