Jill Eldridge Wright, age 74, of Whitaker Street, Morehead, passed from this life on Saturday, July 4, 2020, at Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation in Owingsville.
Jill, a daughter of the late Dail and Jean Jones Eldridge, was born December 18, 1945, in Carter County. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Willa Bea Danner, Jeanene Gilliam, and Tempie Eldridge, and her brother, Steve Eldridge.
Jill is survived by her husband of 33 years, Roy Wright; her sister, June Eldridge of Morehead; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
Jill became a well-known and valued member of the Morehead Community due in large part to her role as Secretary/Financial Clerk at Rowan County Senior High School. She retired from that position in 2011 after 16 years of service to the Rowan County School System. Jill also served the people of Rowan County as the Vital records Clerk for the Rowan County Health Department for the nine-year period previous to her tenure with the school system. Jill’s prior service for the communities of Rowan and Surrounding counties was as an Unemployment Insurance Clerk for a stint of three years.
A graveside ceremony and entombment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Dr. J. D. Reeder officiating. Music will be provided by Jesse Wells.
Pallbearers: David Gilliam, Paul Gilliam, Reese Slone, Jim Barker, Michael Tabor, and Kellen Tabor.
