Steve Eldridge, age 69, of Cranston Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, July 12, 2010, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

Born March 16, 1941, in Carter County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Dail and Jean Jones Eldridge.

Steve retired from the Kentucky Division of Forestry after 34 years of service. He was a co-founder of the 377 Fire Department and was Chairman of the Board for Rowan Water, Inc. He also owned and operated Eldridge & Son Farm Supply since 1983.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanenne Gilliam and Willa Bea Danner.

Steve is survived by his wife of 49 years, Unadell Pennington Eldridge, whom he wed July 28, 1961, one son, John Eldridge and his wife Randa of Morehead, Kentucky, and one granddaughter, Haleigh. three sisters, Tempie Eldridge, June Eldridge, and Jill Wright and her husband Roy, all of Morehead, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Ison officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers: Jim Bowling, Jerry Patrick, Paul Gilliam, Kevin Mayhorn, Jeff Blakeman, Dewayne Anderson, Mike Hale, and Dan Lawson.


Visitation is after 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Fune
