Dugless Carter passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020. He was born September 2, 1933(at James River, Mason County, Texas) to Tom and Sophie Carter...was raised (at Harper) and was a star athlete. He served in the U.S. Army 2 years at the end of the Korean war. He married Leta Fay Daughtrey and lived in Junction, Texas. They had 3 children, Deborah, Ronald and Clay. They moved to Medina, Texas where Dug was Foreman of the Circle R Guest Ranch. He later built many fences in Bandera County and took pride in his work.
Dug was known for his uncommon physical strength. However, following the stroke on January 6th, having his left foot partially amputated twice, pneumonia and excruciating pain, he faced each with a mental and spiritual strength like few others. He taught his family to face the future bravely, no matter the circumstances...
Dug loved his family and friends. He loved horses, horseraces and goats, good food and cooking for others. He believed in cleanliness. He loved fun and laughter, (which may have included a cerveza or two), camping and a good game of pitching washers and horseshoes. He insisted on good, right and fair. Lord help you if you caused trouble. He was very proud of his country, the red, white and blue and made it known.
Dug was preceded in death by his parents, his youngest son, Clay, brothers Orville, Lloyd, Aubrey (Dusty) and Ray and an infant sister, some nieces and nephews, and his late wife, Bobbie Carter.

He is survived by his special friend, Janice Haag, 2nd born, Ronnie, daughter, Debbie and husband Jim and grandchildren Kayla and Travis, nieces, nephews and cousins.
