Edna Ellen (Thrasher) Peters, 91, of Columbus Junction, formerly of Cotter, passed away July 3, 2020 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. Grave side services will be held at a later date. Edna was born November 28, 1928 in Calico Rock, Arkansas to Joseph and Rosa Thrasher. At 19 she moved to Columbus Junction. She worked in the Roundy Grocery Store. She lived in the Bob and Cornelia Hanft Boarding House with Sally Pugh. She met Bill Peters at a Dance Hall outside of Davenport. She was united in marriage to Bill on October 30, 1948 in Burlington. Bill and Edna lived most of there life in Cotter. They had two sons, Danny Joe and William Douglas and a no stepson Rick.

During her life, Edna worked at Bryn Mawr as a waitress and Sheller Globe. She was known for her welcoming heart and never allowing people to leave her house hungry. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Cotter Presbyterian Church and was a Shriner Wife. Her hobbies included playing a competitive game of cards with many friends, multiple culinary specialities and talking on the phone with numerous family and friends as well as crocheting. She was devoted to her family, always hosting every holiday and making every birthday special for each child and grandchild.

She is survived by her sons, Dan (Twyla) Peters of Columbus Junction Iowa; Doug (Rhonda) Peters of Wapello Iowa; and Rick (Becky) Peters of Coralville Iowa; grandkids, Stacy (Lincoln) Pearce, Kara (Mark) Stout, Chad Laucamp, Derek Peters and friend Carlee Hardin, Will (Keetra) Peters, and Mackenzie (Sam) Clark; great-grandchildren, Lucky, Henrietta, Clementine and Arlo Pearce; Dylin O’Donnell, Coy and Crew Peters; Keagan, Kinleigh and Kelton Peters; and Sydney, Clay and Banks Clark; special friend, Bonnie Pierce; and her card playing friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Violet Lawrence and brother, Phil Thrasher; and one great-grandson Mase Clark.
