Victor J. Brubaker, 90, of Antler Arms, Gladwin, died suddenly Thursday, March 26, in the Gladwin Area Hospital. Born in Paulding County, Ohio; Nov. 14, 1896, he came to Gladwin County in 1903. He moved back to Ohio and returned to the county in 1945. Mr. Brubaker worked at Dow Chemical Co. and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 5280. Mr. Brubaker and the former Theresa Dupuis were married June 24, 1920. She preceded him in death in 1965.
Surviving are 3 sons, Donald of Ottawa Lake, Bernard of Sanford and Thomas of Midland; 2 daughters, Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Ridley of Gladwin and Mrs. Daniel (Joanne) Heinze of Neapolis, Ohio; one brother, John of Clare; one sister, Nora Gruss of Beal City; 19 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren and 13 brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Services were held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Donald Christensen officiating. The Gladwin County VFW 7303 held graveside services at the church cemetery. A Rosary was held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the Sisson Mathews Funeral Home.
