AUGUSTA, Ga. Gerda W. Gentry, 75, entered into rest February 17, 2013, at University Hospital with family and friends by her side. Mrs. Gentry was a native of Germany. She had been a resident of Augusta since 1960, and she was the loving wife to Leon Gentry for 52 years. Survivors include her husband, two sons, Michael Gentry and Daniel Gentry of Augusta; one daughter, Diana Gentry of Fayetteville, GA; one sister, Inga Machis, of Benton, AR; and brothers and sisters in law, Wayne and Elaine Budd, and Bruce and Diane Beck, of Evans.
Mrs. Gentry was an insurance agent with Dawson, Taylor Insurance Inc. for many years. She will be missed by all and she will be remembered for her loving devotion to her family and friends. One friend described her as a ray of sunshine to everyone who knew her. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013, at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah s Witnesses, 630 Gibbs Rd, Evans, GA, with Jack Smith officiating.
