Angela Chaka Simpson was born on March 18, 1976 to Armenta and Danny Ray Simpson Sr. at Camp Zama in Japan. She weighed 8 lbs. 6 ¾ ounces.

Angela graduated with honors in 1994 from Gilbert High School. In furthering her education, she received a full scholarship to the University of Arizona wherein she graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. While attending the U of A she proudly pledged the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

In 1999, Angie moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she successfully worked for 13 years with Nationwide Insurance as a Claims Adjuster.

On May 20, 2011 Angela found God and was baptized in Raleigh, North Carolina. She moved back to Phoenix in 2017 in order to help her ailing father.

She was a financial wizard in saving and budgeting her money. So much so that in 2018 she took a trip to Thailand and in 2019 she took another trip to Dubai – both of which were on her bucket list and both totally paid for.

Angie enjoyed working out and riding her bicycle, as well as binge watching TV. She was ever so proud of her 14-year-old dog “Oscar Otis Simpson”, whom she raised from a puppy.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her parents, Armenta and Danny Simpson Sr. (Phoenix); an older brother Danny Simpson Jr. (Phoenix); a younger sister Danielle Renee Simpson (Houston); her Grandma Clara Parker (Colorado), as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A special acknowledgement goes out to Jamie Taylor, her long-time college and life friend.
