Alfredo Gonzalez Jr. 80, surrounded by family, peacefully went to be with his King Saturday, June 27, 2020.

Al is preceded in death by his granddaughter Nichole and will be greatly missed by his wife of 59 years Esther Gonzalez, his children Cynthia (Liandro) Morin, Betty (Rudy) Castro, Cordelia Gonzalez, Gene (Lisa) Gonzalez, his Grandchildren Eric, Jessica, Adam, Alex, Samantha, Emeri, Gage and Rylee, Great Grandchildren Landyn, Greg and Dominic, as well as his favorite grand dog Layla.

Al was a kind soul and always willing to help anyone in need. He relocated to Holland from Laredo, Texas with his young family in 1965. He worked for Donnelly Mirrors and served as a Holland PD Reserve Officer for many years until accepting a position as a Long-Haul Semi Driver for Steelcase where he retired with honors after a successful career. Following retirement Al could be found spending time with his family, helping out at the CB shop or cheering on his grandkids at their sporting events. Al brought joy to all he knew and is deeply loved by his family.

The health and safety of our friends and family is most important. Due to the current circumstances, a private ceremony will be held with immediate family only and a memorial service will be held on a later date.

Memorial contributions in Al's honor may be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 171 W. 13th St. Holland, MI 49423.

Burial to take place in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
