Bonnie Bass Gale Brownfield, 84, passed away peacefully, of natural causes on May 14, 2001, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born September 10, 1916, in Kennilworth, Utah, to John and Grace Bass. She graduated from Provo High School, and attended Brigham Young University.
Bonnie was blessed by Heavenly Father with many talents - she was a vocal soloist for professional local bands and in church services throughout her life. She loved children, music, art and nature. Active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she had great faith and courage. She was endowed and married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1936. Bonnie worked hard her whole life, and at 70 she retired from Continental Bank, Salt Lake City Central Branch.
Bonnie found delight in the simple things of this life - a small bouquet of flowers from her own backyard, romantic lyrics to a beautiful melody, the laughter and light in her grandchildren's eyes. She cherished the rewards of creating a loving home for her four children - eldest daughter Sylvia, her lifelong champion and friend; only son Calvin, always her hero; twins Barbara and Beverly, her seraphim at the end of her life.
She is survived by her sisters Wanda Elliott (Bud) and Eloise Woodhead (Gladstone), her children Sylvia G. Naseath (Brent), Calvin Gale (Lois), Beverly G. Spencer (Mark), Barbara J. Gale, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Vivian Bass, Wilma B. Spafford, Cleora B. Jones (Maurice), and Elvira B. Kirkwood (Leland).
Funeral services to be held at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, on Saturday, May 19, 2001, at 3 p.m. A viewing will be held in the hour preceding the service. Interment at Larkin Sunset Lawn.
