Samuel Lloyd Eastright was born in Cherry Hill, Indiana County, Pennsylvania on July 31, 1873 to A-8, Samuel and Mary Jane Burkhart Eastright. Lloyd, as his family and friends called him, had been out drinking in March 1895 at a local pub and gotten drunk. Another local man challenged him to a fight and according to witnesses Lloyd only hit the man once in the jaw. The man's father arrived and started kicking his son in the back when he was lying on the ground. The man died the next day. Both Lloyd and the man's father were arrested and charged with manslaughter. The trial was held on May 15, 1895. Lloyd claimed self-defense and the Coroner's jury ruled an accidental death. Lloyd married Margaret Jean Cline in Mahoning County, Ohio on September 6, 1897. Jeannie, as her family and friends called her was born in Marysville, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania on August 3, 1879 to Jacob and Sara Paterson Cline. Lloyd and Jennie were living in Apollo, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania under the name of Sylvester Eastright during the 1900 census. They moved to Canton, Stark County, Ohio in 1906. Lloyd went to work at the Canton Sheet Steel Company as a machinist. He died of pneumonia in Canton on July 18, 1917 and is buried at West Lawn Cemetery in Canton. Margaret's second marriage was to Clayton William Anderson. The marriage was short and ended in divorce. Her third marriage was to Jacob W. Moser. Jennie died in Canton on January 11, 1943 and is buried at West Lawn Cemetery in Canton. Lloyd and Jennie had one child and adopted one.

Lloyd Eastwright, a former resident of Indiana, died at his home in Canton, O.. on July 18th, from injuries received while cranking his automobile some time previous. He underwent an operation for blood poison, but pneumonia developed and caused his death. He is survived by his widow, one daughter, an adopted son, four sisters and one brother. Interment was made in Canton.
