Phyllis E. Boyd, 89, of Bellevue, Michigan, died peacefully, Saturday, August 25th at her daughters' home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 7, 1928 in Grosse Pointe, the daughter of Richard and Edith (Bruns) Summers.
Phyllis was united in marriage on June 21, 1945 to Archie W. Boyd. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her husband Archie in 1996. Phyllis was employed in housekeeping for many years at the former Leila Hospital, prior to working her way up to supervisor. Then she worked for the State of Michigan as a Home Health Care Provider from which she retired.
Phyllis is survived by three children, Larry (Valerie) Gilbert of Augusta, Pammy (Rick) Odette, Archie (Char) Boyd both of Bellevue; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nine great great-grandchildren and seven brothers and sisters. In addition to Archie her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Joyce Holmgren in 1995, Tammy Odette in 2012 and a son, Richard L. Boyd 2013.

Phyllis enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting and dancing events, enjoyed working puzzles, but mostly she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Funeral services to celebrate Phyllis's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2018, at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 105 Capital Ave. N.E., Battle Creek, Michigan, with Rev. Bill Cole, officiating. A visitation will be held one-hour prior, from 10:00 a.m. Friday until service time. Interment will follow at Assyria Cemetery, Assyria, MI.
