Michelle James, age 40, passed away peacefully surrounded by her devoted husband and two sweet daughters on June 20, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Michelle was born on June 1, 1980 in Murray, Utah and was one of three children born to Curtis L and Margaret H Hayes.
Michelle married Matt James on March 29, 2001 in the Manti Utah Temple. Michelle was an active member of her church, serving in many positions in the Primary, Young Womens, Relief Society, and as a chorister.
Her husband and girls were her life. She loved to go on family vacations, she loved to hike and travel. She enjoyed seeing many beautiful places with her sweetheart and kids.
As a young girl she was active in horse 4H and FFA. She was a member of the Dairy Products Team which took State that year. Each summer she would raise a lamb to sell at the Morgan County Fair Live Stock Auction. She also enjoyed clogging and playing her flute.
Michelle is survived by her husband Matthew Darrel James and their two daughters Kyla Marie James and Jaielle Sierra James of Cedar City, Utah; her father and mother Curtis L and Margaret H Hayes, her in-laws Bruce and Marilyn Colton and Dick James, one brother Gordon (Jessica) Hayes one sister Katie (Robert) Caldwell, 24 nieces and nephews and 10 aunts and uncles.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday June 27, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Iron Springs Chapel (370 North 4050 West Cedar City, Utah). A viewing will be held on the same day from 9:30-10:30 am Just prior to services. There will also be a viewing Friday evening at the church from 6:00- 8:00 pm.
Interment will be at the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Affordable Funeral Services. www.affordablefuneralservices.com
