Mrs. John Appel was born in Russia, on June 28th, 1863 and departed from this life on Tuesday, October 12th, 1915 at the age of 52 years, 3 months and 14 days. She with her parents came to America in 1876. On January 25, 1881, she united in marriage to John Appel, who with him bore the many hardships of the early days hand in hand. To this union 12 children were born all of which survive her. In 1886 she was converted and ws baptised by Rev. G. Burgdorf and united with the Baptist Church of this city of which she was a faithful member until her end. Mrs. Appel was a kind and loving mother who was always ready to lend a helping hand to the needy. She was loved and highly respeced by all who knew her. She leaves a husband, 12 children, 11 grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn her departure. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Seivers of teh Baptist Church and Rev. Irwin of the English. Interment was made in the Baptist Cemetery east of this city. The entire community expresses their sympathy to the bereaved family.
