Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Snodgrass, 88 of Holts Summit, died Monday, June 20, 2016, at Valley Park Retirement Center. She was born September 8, 1927, in Jefferson City, the only daughter of Wm. Ora & Mildred Georgene Haverkort Burgi.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic religion and was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Holts Summit. She attended St. Peter's Catholic School and graduated in the class of 1945. She continued her education at the Jefferson City Jr. College and during that time became a member of the Delta Gamma Theta Sorority.
She was united in marriage to Thomas Wood Snodgrass of Little Rock, Ark., on Thanksgiving Day 1953 and from this union three sons were born.
Her employment career began as Secretary to the Board of Probation and Parole in the late 1940's and ended with retirement in 1992 from the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.
She is survived by: two sons, Thomas O. Snodgrass and his wife Kimberly of Holts Summit, Patrick Edw. K. Snodgrass of Sarasota, Fla.; one grandson, Scott Bradley Snodgrass and his wife Georgia; two great-grandchildren, Adeline and Graham Snodgrass of St. Charles, Mo.; two step-grandchildren, Britney Scott and Blake Allen of Holts Summit; and a very special Aunt, Jean Love and her family of Palm Desert, Calif. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Thomas; one son, Robert Lindenwood Snodgrass; and a brother William Raymond Burgi.
In keeping with her wishes there will be a private interment at Resurrection Cemetery for family members at a later date
