Born in Landrum, SC, son of the late Charlie C and Mary Jane "Mollie" Raines O'Shields; loving husband of 63 years to the late Amy Estelle Mathis O'Shields.
A retired machinist and veteran of WWII; a member of Holston Creek Baptist for over 60 years where he served as a Deacon and on various committees over the years.
Survivors include his son, Douglas O'Shields (Nell); daughter, Myra O'Shields Miller; granddaughter, Melody Mullinax; grandson, Jared Miller (Christy); great grandson, Elliot Miller; brother, Ervin O'Shields; several nieces and nephews; and a dear special friend, Alsie Page.
Predeceased by his brother, Elford Hugh O'Shields (1918–2004); and sister, Ruth O'Shields Mathis (1922–1981).
The family received friends from 3:00 - 4:00 pm, Monday, June 22, 2020, at Holston Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral service followed at 4:00 pm conducted by Dr. Reggie Parker; burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
The family expressed their appreciation to the staff at Ashlan Village and Pelham Medical Center for their compassionate care.
