Obituary for Jewell L. Thompson
Jewell L. Thompson passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at
Magnolia Regional Health Center at the age of 93. She was born
July 5, 1917 to the late Claude Huson & Eunice Thompson Lofton.
She was a Retired School teacher and a Member of First United
Methodist Church.

Mrs. Thompson was a principal at a little church in Georgia at
the age of 19. Her fame among her grandchildren and great
grandchildren was making gingerbread “grandma” cookies
together.

Mrs. Thompson was a longtime teacher in the Vicksburg area.
She devoted her life to church, family, tutoring and helping
others in any way possible. Mrs. Thompson was a founding
member of Redbone Methodist Church. She was also a very
active member and Sunday School teacher at Crawford Street
Methodist Church in Vicksburg.

When Mrs. Thompson moved to Corinth nearly ten years ago,
she became a very active member and Sunday School teacher
of First United Methodist Church in Corinth. Her churches were
a major part of her life.

Mrs. Thompson spent the last 4 years of her life as a resident at
Country Cottage in Corinth, where she was lovingly cared for and
was very happy.

She is survived by
Daughters: Patricia Marsh and husband Ron – Jackson, TN;
Hope Waite Sorrell and husband Mack – Raymond, MS;
Georgia Lynn Lofstrom and husband Charles- Corinth

6 Grandchildren: Bradley Waite and wife Lori, Kelly
Waite Burkhalter, Gretchen Gintz and husband Trip,
Christopher Lofstrom and wife Candy, Greg Geske
and wife Haylie, Georgia Hope Lofstrom

4 Great Grandchildren: Sam, Cindy, Dylan, Miles

She is welcomed to Heaven by her
