Evan D. Jones, 70 of Columbus passed from this life on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 2:25 a.m. at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Mr. Jones was born on February 15, 1950 in Columbus the son of John “Jack” Shipley Jones and Ethel Roberta Sharer Jones Olsen.
Mr. Jones had a tremendous love for his grandchildren. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, duck hunting and wood working.
Survivors include his wife, Susan D. Hull Jones of Columbus; son, Evan Justin (Raina) Jones of Columbus; brothers, John Martin Jones of Florida and Thomas Shipley Jones of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; sister, Jacqueline Sue Schmitt of Florida; and grandchildren, Evan Logan Jones and Liberty Lynn Jones both of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog, Hawk.
In keeping with Mr. Jones’ wishes cremation will take place and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
