Roberta Verlynn (McClellan) Moore, 85 years of age, went to meet her Lord and Savior on May 27, 2020. Verlynn was born on October 28, 1934 in Cement, Oklahoma to Carl McClellan and Irene (Nelson) Ellis.

Verlynn enjoyed roller skating when she was younger, especially since that is where she met her future husband, Doyle. Verlynn graduated from the Cyril High School. She worked as a telephone operator for 5 years, starting while she was still in high school.

Verlynn married at the age of 21 and enjoyed being a homemaker when she became a mother. She was also a truck driver’s wife, which meant she was a busy homemaker. She enjoyed reading mystery and suspense novels and watching Hallmark movies and mysteries. Verlynn made the best Coconut Cream Pie, which was always the first gone at holidays. She was a loving mom and grandma.

She is survived by her two sons, Gary Moore and Mark Moore and wife Marla; grandchildren, Jason Moore and wife Cylisa, Josh Moore, and Katie Moore, Justin Moore and wife Lauren, and Cody Moore and wife Christina; 4 great grandchildren, Emma Grace, Owen R., Ellis J., and Owen W.; siblings, Jesse Dean Ellis, Terrance Keith Ellis, Charles “Rusty” Ellis and wife Pama, Harla Lane and Shirley Mobly.

Verlynn is preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Irene Ellis; husband, Doyle Moore; infant son, David; daughter, Doyelynn Moore; and infant great grandson, Atticus Moore.

Memorial services will by held at 2:00 P.m. on Friday, June 19, 2020 at the John Ireland Funeral Chapel, 120 S. Broadway, Moore, OK.
