The family moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico, where she grew up and graduated with honors from the New Mexico School for the Visually Handicapped.
She married Ferris E. Bolin on June 9, 1957 while Ferris was stationed at Holloman Air Force Base. Glenda worked for the newspaper and was elected as the Otero County Treasurer. Both of their children, Seth and Deirdre, were born there.
The family was transferred to Slidell, Louisiana, in 1972. Here, Glenda helped manage residential construction projects and was employed by the St. Tammany Board of Realtors.
Glenda was a bright, loyal, caring, positive person who leaves many family members and friends with heavy hearts and wonderful memories.
She is survived by her husband, Ferris Bolin; son, Edward Bolin; daughter, Deirdre Bolin Elfers; two grandsons, Russell St. John Bolin-Elfers (Shannon) and Shane Patton Bolin-Elfers; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Genevieve and Wyatt St. John; and two sisters, Judy Kathleen St. John Belt and Kim E. St. John-Riffle; and many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell, LA, on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
