Mrs. Betty Jean (Turner) Graves of Campbellsville passed from this life on Monday, June 15, 2020 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. Daughter of the late Owen and Mary Barbara (Calhoun) Turner, she was born on January 29, 1940 in Taylor County, and was 80 years, 4 months, and 17 days of age. As a young lady she met Mr. George Thomas Graves, and at the tender age of 18, on June 7, 1958 she united in marriage with him. They remained a devoted couple until his death in 2018. Mrs. Graves was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom until failing health forced an early retirement. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a long-time member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church. She loved her church family and her beautiful singing voice will be dearly missed. She leaves to mourn her passing: Five children , Eight siblings , Eight grandchildren, Four great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her stepmother: Mrs. Annie Turner; three brothers: Paul Turner, Owen William Turner, and Oscar Ray Turner; and five sisters: Debra Turner, Mary Catherine Simpson, Bernice Richardson, Rose Gaddie, and Vernetta Hendrickson. There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Graves on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Pleasant Union Baptist Church, 426 Fallen Timber Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Rev. Michael Caldwell will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, June 20, from 11:00 AM until time for the service. Mrs. Graves will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Union Church Cemetery beside her husband. In order to combat the spread of Covid19, all attendees are respectfully asked to practice social distancing and wear a face covering.
