Mary is the second daughter born to John Silas Brasfield (also Brassfield) and Savilla Jane Powell. In 1900 the family had moved to Wyoming by wagon train. She married William Jesse Grant, Jr. on May 22, 1911 in Billings, Montana. They became parents to three children: William (Billy), Marjorie, and Mary.
Evelyn died of ovarian cancer.
