CARLISLE - Fred G. Gordon, 86, of Carlisle went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 19, 2007 at Conway Regional Medical Center. He was born at Bird Town, near Morrilton November 14, 1920 to John Bruce Gordon and Carrie Etta Tucker. He was married November 17, 1945 to Gladys Barber of Hamilton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one grandson, two brothers and four sisters. He is survived by a son, Gary Gordon (Sissy) of Carlisle, a daughter, Mary Alice Shannon (Gary) of Conway; grandchildren, Shelley Brandon (Chad) of Carlisle, Monica Mathis (Chris) of Greenbrier, John Gordon, Joseph Gordon and Kathryn Gordon, all of Carlisle; five great-grandchildren and one brother, Lindel Gordon ofNorth Little Rock.

He was a charter member and deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Carlisle and a retired well driller. His family and community will miss him dearly.

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Union Valley Cemetery, Coy, Ark. near England. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for Lifeword Ministries.
