Daughter of John A and Ruth Wilkes. She was a member of Pleasant Way Baptist Church and served as the church pianist for over 50 years. She was married to the late Gilbert David “Sam” Yancey, Sr. She was the owner of the Lanier County Freezer Locker. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers John A Wilkes, Jr. and Jimmy M Wilkes. Survivors include her children, Kathy Register (Glyndon) of Lakeland, GA, David Yancey (Sue) of Naylor, GA, Ruthie Watson (Bill) of Naylor, GA; grandchildren, Glyn Register (Melody), Greg Register (Christi), Christy King (Kevin), Sammy Watson (Hannah), Ryan Yancey (fiancé, Becky Kluball); great-grandchildren, Katelyn Hunt (Jamie), Meghan Register, Hannah Register, Peyton, Parker, and Presley Wade, and Elise Watson; great-great grandchildren: Raylyn and AnnaLee Hunt; and sister, Betty Ruth Gaskins of Naylor, GA.
