Sadie P. Olsen, 95, passed away peacefully Friday, at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility surrounded by her loving family.

She was the daughter of William and Anna (Makosky) Krause. Sadie grew up on the Woodlock Road in Ford River and attended the Ford River School. She was confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hyde in 1935. Sadie was employed as a housekeeper for many local families and took great pride in her work. She loved children, helped with babysitting and dog sitting for many families over the years. She also did event catering for many years. Sadie enjoyed planting her vegetable garden and canning. She loved working in her flower gardens at her home and sharing her flowers with family and friends. Sadie was a talented seamstress. She embroidered pillow cases and made rugs and blankets. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hyde. Sadie P.

Olsen was survived by: children, Evonne Boudreau, Charlotte Henderson, Samuel (Cyndi) Olsen; eight grandchildren, Ronald (Susan) Boudreau, Pamela (Walter) Sliva, Sheri (Raymond) Sanborn, Gerald (Molly) Boudreau, James (Rachel) Mitchell, David (Nicki) Mitchell, Samuel Olsen, Michelle (Jeff) Fels, Melissa (Bruce) Fowles; 20 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Linna Dupont; brother, David Krause; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Alvin Voigt and Orville “Mickey” Olsen; sister, Margaret; and brothers, Floyd, Edward, Oscar “Goldie” and Emil and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hyde. Funeral services celebrating the life of Sadie P. Olsen at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Ronald Zindler officiating. Burial in the West Ford River Cemetery, assisted by the Anderson Funeral Homes of Escanaba and Gladstone.
