Madison J. McDonald, 98, of Lavaca, AR passed away on June 09, 2020 at Pink Bud Nursing Center in Greenwood, Arkansas.
Madison was born on March 1, 1922 to the late Herman and Mattie Van Allen McDonald in Magazine, Arkansas.
Madison was a member of City of Harvest PCG Church, he was a tank gunner in the U.S. Army during WWII. He also enjoyed eating vanilla ice cream or anything sweet; reading his Bible and singing old church hymns. He had a great love for his family, loving them unconditionally.
He is survived by one granddaughter, Debalena Fenner (Ron) of Lavaca, AR and one brother, Eugene McDonald and several other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by four children, Wayne Allen, Jackie Allen, Kathy Allen Inklebarger, and Eugene Mcdonald Jr. and six siblings, Idell Tate, Nellie Sigman, Lois Young, Blanche Webb, Herman McDonald, and Garrie McDonald.
Viewing will be on Thursday June 11, 2020 from2PM until 8PM at Smith Mortuary, Inc. in Charleston, AR.
Funeral services will be on Friday, June 12th, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Smith Mortuary, Inc. with Billy Goines officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Valley Cemetery under the direction of Smith Mortuary, Charleston, AR.
Pallbearers will be Ron Fenner, Josh Fenner, Makiya Fenner, Caleb Allen, Dalton Allen, and Patrick Shepard.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Olivia, Madisyn, and Rebecca Fenner.
Memorial donations can be made to DAV in memory of Madison.
A special thank you the staff of Greenhurst Nursing Center and Pink Bud Nursing Center for all the care provided for Madison during his stay.
