Ottis D. Baer, 68, of Meyersdale, died June 14, 2001, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born Aug. 16, 1932, in Meyersdale. A son of the late George E. and Mary (Keefer) Baer. Survived by his wife, Manda L. Baer; three brothers: Glenn H., Westminster, Md.; Leo E., Alexandria, Va.; and Allan J., Clarksville, Md.; a sister, Mary Ada, Clarksville; Md.; two step-sons: Albert C. Dively, Meyersdale; and Richard Dively, Waverly, Ohio; and stepdaughter Suzanne M. Dively-Smith, Williamsport. Also nephews: Gary L., Berlin, Md.; Donald L., Alexandria, Va.; and Wayne E., Washington, W.Va. Mr. Baer was a high school physics teacher at Somerset Senior High School for 37 years. A member of Amity United Church of Christ, Meyersdale. Served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Ottis enjoyed travel, trains, photography, teaching, woodworking, home improvement and computers. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Amity United Church of Christ, Meyersdale, with the Rev. Bruce Ashlock officiating. Interment, Reformed Cemetery.
