AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Kathryn "Kitty" Holmes entered into rest on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Holmes was born in Augusta, GA, the only child of the late Alvin and Sarah Scott. Affectionately known to everyone as "Ms. Kitty," she was a retired licensed beautician who was self-employed. Her sense of humor and outspoken nature were attributes that made it so easy to love her infectious personality. You could never leave her presence without indulging in laughter. Mrs. Holmes loved her family and friends deeply and was always willing to help anyone in need.
Survivors who will cherish her memories are her devoted husband of 59 years, Charles Holmes ; two sons, Decosta (Mary) Holmes of Virginia Beach, VA, and Titus (Tabatha) Holmes of Grovetown, GA; one daughter, Mialashun Leverett of Hephzibah, GA; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two cousins, Barbara Hammond and Cornell Peterson, both of Augusta, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of Mrs. Holmes' life will be held at Elim Baptist Church, 2359 Mt. Auburn Street, Augusta, GA on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
