Francis Joseph Burghart, 70, Topeka, died Sunday, July, 19, 1987 at a Topeka convalescent home. He was born Jan. 29, 1917 in Topeka, the son of George and Emma Barbara Jacob Burghart.

He spent his life in Topeka. Mr. Burghart worked for Santa Fe Railway from 1943 until he retired in 1977. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council No. 2608 and the Brotherhood of Railway, Airline and Steamship Clerk's Union, all in Topeka.

Survivors include three sisters, Elizabeth Price, 3102 N. Kansas Ave., Pauline McClain, 800 N. Monroe, and Georgina Moore, 3106 N. Kansas Ave., and a brother, LeRoy Burghart, 317 E. Gordon.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Burghart will lie in state until 9 a.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home where a parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today.
