She was a daughter of Paul and Addie (Rogers) Muhlstadt. She married Dean Bayles on Nov. 12, 1948; he passed away Nov. 8, 1987.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, James; sister, Oneta Newton; and three brothers: Carl, Frank and Herman Muhlstadt.
She and her husband farmed in rural Streator for many years. She was a member of Primitive Methodist Church and the Busy Bees of the church. She attended Browns Business College.
