Reunited with her husband, William Carter, whom she married on January 6, 1946 in Sweden, New York, on Sunday May 31, 2020, at the age of 99.
Leaving behind her beloved children, William (Norine), Lawrence (Julie), Mary Ellen (Terry) Rich, Jan (Donna), Richard and Jo Ann Mayo; grandchildren, Matthew (Michelle), Jason (Christine), Janna (Nate) Keefe, Ryan, Claire Green, Kate Carter (Amanda), Randall (Carrie) Rich, Cassandra Rich, Catherine (William) Christy, Janet Lynn (Matthew) Jarman, Donna Lucy (Brandon) Broughton, Erin (Chris) Warin, Bryan (Valerie), Melissa (Byron) McConnell and Felicia Rosenbaum; great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Sarah and Benjamin Carter, Autumn and Evelyn Keefe, Hannah, Wesley, Zoe and Silas Carter, Jasmine and Ariel Green, Talia and Theo Rich, Logan, Parker, Quinn and Crosby Christy, Emma and Abigail Jarman, Carter and Lucy Broughton, Aspen and Addison Warin, William Carter, Estelle and Edith McConnell, Ella Jane and Martha Graham Rosenbaum. She will be missed by her sister, Patricia Barrus Lucero; and sister-in-law, Paula Barrus.
Janet's family moved to Brockport from Medina in 1923 and was a member of the First Baptist Church for 90 years. She bestowed kindness, humor and love to her family, friends and strangers, the young and the old, the healthy and the infirm, and those that were in need. A private family interment was held in Lakeview Cemetery.
