Survivors include his wife, Viola May Thompson Buffer of the home, to whom he was married in 1948; three daughters, Mary Buffer of Gentry, Frances Smith of Decatur and Kathy Buffer of Colcord, Okla,; two brothers, Delbert Buffer and Raymond Reece Buffer, both of Gravette; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
