Delbert Buffer, 88, of Gravette, Arkansas died on July 11, 2019. He was born on May 8, 1931 in Decatur, Arkansas to Luther and Verna Mae (Burns) Buffer.

Delbert spent a part of his childhood in Girard, Kansas before moving back to Gravette with his family in 1938. His mother died in 1939. In, 1942 at age 11, he rode a flatbed truck to Holly, CO where he worked the broom-corn Harvest. He worked from then and for the rest of his life. In 1953 he married Xollie Alexander. They had five kids and farmed on Georgia Flat raising Chickens, beef cattle and milking dairy cows. In 2005, they sold a part of their Arkansas farm and moved to Walker, MO where they raised beef cattle. They “retired” and returned to Gravette in 2011, but still continued to raise beef cattle. Besides farming, Delbert loved owning and working his draft horse teams, and spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He will be greatly missed by his family and multitude of friends.

He is survived by his wife, of 65 years Xollie; three sons, Vernon Buffer and wife Debbie, Larry Buffer and wife LaDonna, Chris Buffer and wife Ashley, all of Gravette;

two daughters, Rhonda Brinkley and husband Dwayne of Gravette, Xollie Duncan Clinger and husband David of Hiwasse; sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 15, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Bella Vista Funeral Home, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72715. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Georgia Flat Cemetery, west of Gravette.
