WILLAMINA MAN DIES IN SALEM

Services were held Tuesday at the First Methodist church for Traugott J. Werth who died in Salem on September 29, at the age of 72 years, 1 month and 1 day. He had been a resident of Willamina for the past 6 years.

Mr. Werth was born near Berlin, Germany, August 28, 1877, and came to the United States 65 years ago. In 1902 he was married to Maria Werth, who survives him in Willamina. They lived in Newberg for six years, and in 1909 they moved to Grand Ronde where they operated Sunnybank farm until 1943 when they sold the farm and retired to a small place in Willamina.

He was a member of the grange, and Methodist by faith.

Survivors are daughters, Mrs. Mabel Jahn, Grand Ronde, and Mrs. Ethel Hackenberg, Portland; brothers, Fred, Powell Butte; Alfred, Amity; Walter, Willamina; and Conrad, Denver, Colorado; sisters, Mrs. Lucy Schaad and Mrs. Amanda Getman, Newberg; Mrs. Elizabeth Heppe, Pasco, Washington; Mrs. Alma Gatzke, South Dakota; Mrs. Martha Harris, Portland; Mrs. Marie Streech, Orange, California; and Mrs. Lillian Gordon, Denver, Colorado.

Pallbearers were: Lloyd Newbill, Wilfred Louis, Howard Wooden, Bill Rissieuw, William Talbot and Weslie Shenk.

Interment was in the Green Crest memorial park, Sheridan, with the Rev. Arnold Finkbeiner, Nampa, Idaho, officiating.
