Funeral services for Alfred F. Werth, 79, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 12 at the Chapel of Macy and Son with entombment at Evergreen Memorial Park Mausoleum. Mr. Werth died April 8, 1968 at a McMinnville rest home.

Born Oct. 15, 1888 at Crandon, So. Dak., the son of Fredrick and Ottelia Werth, he moved to Newberg with his family as a young boy and on April 22, 1913 was united in marriage to Edna Siebert at Newberg. She predeceased him in 1960. They farmed at Valley Junction for 30 years before moving to Amity in 1943 where he operated a farm until recent years. He was a long time employee of the New Grand Ronde Lumber Co.

Surviving are one son, Mervin E. Werth, Merced, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Lavern Leppin, Monmouth; a brother, Walter Werth, Willamina; four sisters, Mrs. Lucy Schaad, Newberg; Mrs. Elizabeth Hepp, Midvale, Idaho; Mrs. Lillian McAllister, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Mrs. Marie Streech, Orange, Calif., and five grandchildren. He was a member of the Amity Methodist Church.
