Life is like an open book with many pages. On December 14, 1952, the book of life began to fill when Ruby Rebecca Ponds was born from the loving union of Otis D. And Gladys Ponds in Wichita,Kansas.

Ruby grew up in Wichita,Kansas, graduating from Wichita North High School with the class of 1971. Shortly afterwards she was blessed with a loving daughter, Kimberly, on February 9, 1972. She provided for her family by working as a Sheet Metal Hand Former for many companies such as Boeing Aircraft, Cessna, and Beech in Wichita,Kansas.

In 1992 she met the love of her life Mr. Willie Robinson. To this union, a child was birthed into heaven, Jazmine Robinson. In 1997 she relocated to Kansas City, MO. On June 18, 2005, Ruby and Willie committed their love for one another and were married under the direction of Rev. Henry Moore. After caring for her dear husband, until God called him home, she then relocated to Okmulgee, OK, to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.

Ruby loved cooking, spending time with her family, and enjoying her favorite hobby of all, her talent in agriculture and plants.

The final chapter of her book of life was written and fulfilled on May 23, 2020, when she “dozed into the tranquil peace, of eternal slumber” surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her parents, (Otis and Gladys), her loving husband (Willie), sister (Audrey), brother (Cleon), and daughter (Jazmine).

She leaves to cherish her memory: Her daughter Kimberly Brown of Midwest City, OK, a sister Jerrie Bowman, of Wichita, Kansas; brothers Anthony Cravens and Jesse Bowman of Wichita KS; A special friend Doris Moore (Henry) of Wichita, KS, 5 Grandchildren, 12 Great-grandchildren, along with a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends and her loving dog Max that will truly miss her presence.
