Elsie Bridwell, age 87, of Mountain Pine, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009. She was born on October 7, 1921, at Hopper, the daughter of Jim Thomas and Edna Yarbarough Thomas. On October 31, 1941, she was married to Cecil Bridwell, who preceded in her in death on May 18, 1987. She is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Elner Seaton; one son, James Bridwell; one granddaughter, Janice Qualls and one grandson, James Seaton. She was a member of Mountain Pine First Baptist Church and was retired from St. Joseph's Senior Citizen Center. She is survived by her daughter; two grandchildren, five great-grandsons; two sisters, Lorene Davis of Mt. Ida and Clotha Powell of Royal; and nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, July 10, 2009, at the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Bro. Darren Green officiating. Interment will be at Hopper Cemetery in Hopper, Arkansas, under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday evening..
