Dennis Michael Hendon Sr., 65, of Peoria, IL., passed away at his home on Monday, May 25, 2020. He was a fraternal twin to Denise and one of many children born to A.Z. and Ruth Hendon.
Dennis leaves to cherish his most precious memories two sons, Dennis (Constance) Hendon II of Lawrenceville, GA., and Derric (Constance) Hendon of Peoria; three daughters, Nicole “Nikki” McGruder of Columbia, MO., LaReesa Hendon and Jennifer Hendon both of Peoria; six brothers, Curtis (Connie) Moore, Albert (Linda) Hendon, Lynn (Jackie) Moore, Johnny Hendon, Houston “Jig” Owens, all of Peoria, and Terry (Jeanie) Williams of Bloomington, IL; five sisters, Louise Irby, Maxine Parker, Florine (Leonard) Bell, Dennis’ twin sister, Denise (Sylvester) Hunter and Kathy Malone, all of Peoria, IL; 21 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; his long-time friend, Lena Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Raymond Hendon, Robert Lee Hendon, Ernest “Sonny” Chisholm and Everett “Butchie” Hendon.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Victory Christian Church with a visitation beginning at 9 am. Pastor Charles “Chuck” Brown will bring words of comfort. Dennis will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery.
