Rosemary Riley, 93, of Ottumwa, died at 8:45 p.m. May 25, 2020 at Vista Woods Care Center. She was born November 13, 1926 in Fremont, Mahaska County, Iowa to Leonard and Adah (Whitmer) Yeoman. She married William Ray Riley on December 26, 1945 and he preceded her in death January 14, 1998. A 1945 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. Rosemary was a member of Davis Street Christian Church where she taught Sunday school for many years and participated in the Women's Christian Fellowship Group. She loved assisting in the church kitchen with various occasions. She was a PTA member for 24 years and enjoyed working the election polls for 28 years.
Rosemary cherished her family and enjoyed life, always enjoying a cup of coffee with her many dear friends and was always there when someone needed her. Surviving is her son, Ray Jr. Riley (Ann Axmacher) of Kearney, MO, daughters, Judy (Jerry) Cox and Linda Mangler both of Ottumwa; four grandsons, Jason (Michelle) Gideon, Jamie (Jesse) Gideon, Chris (Misty) Riley and Michael (Heather) Cox; six great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Alec, Korben, Austin, Breanna and Brandon; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Kenneth Yeoman, three sisters, Viola Rosenboom, Virginia Smith and Betty Hubbell.
Private funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 28th, at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor James H. Wakelin officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Davis Street Christian Church or mailed to Linda Mangler, 102 W. Finley Apt. 202, Ottumwa, Iowa 52501. A Celebration of life will be determined at a later date.
