Laura was the daughter of John William and Jennie Cromwell. She shares a stone with her husband, Edward E. Hardegree, who she married 19 August 1889 in Anderson Co, TX.

OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Monday, 3 January 1949:

Funeral for Mrs. E. E. Hardegree, 83, who died at the home of her neice, Mrs. J. I. Shruptrine of 102 West Gooch Street Saturday night, was held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Elkhart Baptist Church.

Rev. Bailey of Elkhart officiated. Burial was in Elkhart Cemetery.

Mrs. Hardegree moved to Elkhart from Kentucky 70 years ago and was a charter member of the Elkhart Baptist church.

Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. W. R. Quarles and Mrs. Jennie Quarles, both of Elkhart; and several nieces and nephews.
