He was survived by two son, Charlie C. Gammage and Clyde Gammage, both of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Winnie Maris of Houston, and Mrs. Paxton McClinton of Kennard; three brothers, I. M. Gammage, A. N. Gammage and Paxton Gammage, all fo Elkhart; a sister, Mrs. Mary Edna Bowdoin, Elkhart; 21 grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren. His obituary appeared in the Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Sunday, 31 October 1965.
He shares a stone with his wife, Maggie Ann Nelms Gammage, who he married 5 June 1904 in Anderson Co, TX. Their sons, William Carl Gammage, Charlie C. Gammage, Dave Arlon Gammage and Harry Lee Gambrell, and daughter, Ellna Gammage McClinton, are also buried in Garden of Memories.
