Isaac was apparently born about July/Aug. 1835 (see note below), the son of Isaac Garrison and Elizabeth Jackson. He married Mary R. West (his second cousin) on 10 Dec. 1857 in Woodbury, Gloucester Co., NJ. They had 6 children, as follows:

1) Joseph F. Garrison, born 8 Dec. 1858--linked below;
2) Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie," born 14 July 1861;
3) Rose "Rosie" E., born 4 July 1863, married Elmer D. Dunham;
4) Jonathan Allen, born Mar. 1867, married Laura Virginia Hinchman;
5) Lilly, born about 1871; and
6) Isaac Richard Jr., born Sep. 1876--linked below.

Note: Early census records put Isaac's birth in 1835. The 1900 Census gives his birth month as Aug. 1841; clearly this year is incorrect. His death certificate gives his age at death as 68 years & 7 months, which would put his birth in about July 1840. Thus, it appears that he was probably born about July/August 1835.
