Anders Christoffersen was born on Feb. 3, 1795 at the Øystad farm in Hov, Søndre Land, Norway. His parents were Christoffer Andersen and Mari Halvorsdatter. In 1818 Anders became a soldier in the Valdres Musketeer Army, Land group. On Nov. 16, 1821 he married Ingeborg Olsdatter in Fluberg, Søndre Land,Norway. On July 8, 1857 Anders, Ingeborg and their youngest son Hans departed from the port of Drammen, Norway on the ship "Flora" for America. They arrived in Quebec, Canada on Sept. 6, 1857 and travelled on to Coon Valley. WI. They lived in Coon Valley with their son Hans until 1870 and then moved with Hans to the Pigeon Falls area. Anders died on Feb. 25, 1875.

Anders' death on Feb. 25, 1875 and his burial on June 6, 1875 are recorded in the Pigeon Creek Lutheran Church records. H.A.M. Steen's Fremstad-Hanvold Family history also says that he is buried in Pigeon Creek Cemetery.
