Matilda "Tillie" P. Vergot Pilsitz, 91, of Steelton, died peacefully in her home, on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was a retired Housekeeper at Bishop's Residence for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg; member of the former St. James Roman Catholic Church, Steelton and a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton. Tillie was an avid quilter, member of Nimble Thimbles, loved baking and Sea Isle City, NJ. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend. She was the daughter of the late Steve & Frances Bratina Vergot and was the widow of Michael M. Pilsitz. She is survived by four sons, Michael S. Pilsitz, Steelton; Jeffrey A. Pilsitz & his wife Lisa J., Harrisburg, Joel P. Pilsitz, Highspire,& John H. Jacobs, Spring Hill, Florida; two daughters, Wendy J. Poston, Steelton & Lisa L. Pilsitz, Steelton; 10 grandchildren & 22 great-grandchildren. Tillie was preceded in death by her brothers Fred, Philip, George, Frank, Louis & Mark Vergot; sisters, Catherine Cordas; Margaret Matincheck, Josephine Devlin, Ann Cannon & Frances Rust. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 24, 2020 at 12:00 pm in Prince of Peace - Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 815 S. Second Street, Steelton, with the Very Rev. David L. Danneker, Pastor, Celebrant. Private burial will be held in Resurrection Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Monday, from 10:00 am - 11:30 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 357 S. Harrisburg St., Oberlin. Current Commonwealth of Pennsylvania COVID-19 Guidelines will be enforced.
